Description
The common eland, also known as the southern eland or eland antelope, is a savannah and plains antelope found in East and Southern Africa. It is a species of the family Bovidae and genus Taurotragus. The eland is the largest antelope in the world. Both the males and females have spiraling horns that can reach 3 ft. As they move, an eland makes a clicking noise which comes from the knees and can be heard from far away.
